When Lyn’s life was tragically cut short by cancer in March 2021, many questions emerged through the grief felt by her family and friends.  One series of questions, in particular, kept coming back to us: If Lyn had been given more time, how much more good would she have done?  How many more lives would she have positively impacted?  How would she have made our community better and stronger?

These questions inspired the idea to form a charitable fund as a way for Lyn’s friends and family to continue making a difference in the community by following the example she set.  By following her footsteps.  In doing so, we hope to honor her memory and keep her close to our hearts.

Thus, in November 2021, Follow Lyn’s Footsteps was founded by Lyn’s husband, Tony, and her children Meg, Matt, Ann, Brad, Scott, Faye, and Monica, along with the invaluable help of friends and family.  The mission of Follow Lyn’s Footsteps is to foster a more connected, nurtured, and inclusive community by supporting local nonprofit programs that work to lift up community members in need of attention and care.  Our guiding principle is Lyn’s conviction that we should live as a neighborhood, pitching in to help our neighbors without regard for whether their background is the same as ours.  By following Lyn’s footsteps in this conviction, we all benefit from a stronger, more compassionate community whose members better understand and relate to one another.
